Our self-directed program
Addresses the needs of our community gifted individuals with inclusiveness in mind. Our goal is working collectively with these individuals and their families to assist them to become self – sufficient as possible and to attain their highest potential.
- We address risk factors like chronic stress, malnutrition, sedentary lifestyle, and social isolation resulting in loneliness.
- We conduct 6 weeks Self-management training / workshops for diabetes, arthritis, depression, anxiety, sickle cell disorder, sensory disorder and heart disease
- We conduct Stress reduction and management workshops
- We conduct relapse prevention and conflict management workshops
- We conduct meaningful eating and Holistic cooking classes
Our Maternal Care
provides advocacy for maternal care and safety to prevent maternal mortality increase amongst black women. We provide BLS workshops to new parents and their families. Also advocate & provide nutritional shakes to new mothers with little or no milk of their own. We create environment that is supportive & inspiring that allows for the maximizing personal potential.
OUR OBJECTIVES
- Self-sufficiency: to provide basic essentials to keep participants. To keep them safe and protected from the elements. To provide alternative stimulation as needed.
- Education & tutoring: programs designed to raise daily living skills proficiency. To help develop sense of confidence. To provide specialized, innovative learning skills in social and vocational areas which will help build sense of self- worth, and fulfill their potential in becoming active participants in their community.
- To promote public health awareness and advocacy through education and partnership.
- To promote global family conferences, to simulate bonding, and provides continuing education opportunities to professionals and families.
- Healthcare: Provide supplies like health literacy materials, hygiene products, monitory and other devices to participants as needed. We provide resources for continued outreach that provides basic life needs from education to safety, addressing a variety of issues causing distress, despair, family conflict
